The Ministry of communications published a draft decree on granting the FSB the personal data of users of social networks and services communication programs (instant messengers).
This includes passport data, address, transcripts, transferred files, information about payments and more. To comply with this order will be required, for example, networks such as "Vkontakte", "Odnoklassniki", "Yandex" and even Telegram. Also from 1 July 2018, these companies will need at least six months to store all your private messages and calls users. In Germany, WhatsApp sued for data transfer Facebook

A group of researchers from Germany found that Microsoft allegedly engaged in analysis of the content of all instant messages sent through Skype. After the detection of suspicious calls to anywhere announced servers using the HTTPS Protocol, the researchers did some experiments and was able to reproduce this behavior.
As it turned out, if Skype send the link with https://, after some time the bot will automatically generate an HTTP HEAD request for the specified URL. In the study, Skype was sent a link with sensitive parameters (username and password), and also a link to a previously unknown private resource. In both cases, the bot has successfully made requests, confirming fears that sending links via Skype may result in the disclosure of confidential information.
A normal URL that uses the HTTP Protocol, this behaviour is presumably not affected (correction: the bot sends a HEAD request for http-links). After seeking explanation in Skype, Skype representatives have quoted the researchers, the fragment of an agreement allowing them such activity: "Skype may use automated scanning within Instant Messages and SMS to (a) identify suspected spam and/or (b) identify URLs that have been previously flagged as spam, fraud, or phishing links.".
The explanation of this activity the need to check references to fighting spam raises a number of questions. For example, why the test is performed not immediately but a few hours after sending the message and why is only a HEAD request. From the point of view of struggle with spam such behavior is meaningless, because in this case the test would have to produce as quickly as possible and perform the content on the page (a suspicion that this is a test of redirection is unlikely due to the fact that it ignores possible transfer at the level of HTML and malicious insertion).
